India is set to launch its first quantum computing course in English, with a quantum computer being built in a lab in the Indian capital of New Delhi.
The quantum computing courses will begin in November this year and will include lectures, quizzes and simulations.
Quantum computers use quantum information to encode information and control computers.
This is the first quantum computer course in the world and is being taught in the US, India, the US and China.
A quantum computer, or quantum computer chip, is used to store information, which is used by quantum computers to perform calculations.
“The course will be run by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology of the Indian Institutes of Technology, under the supervision of a quantum computing professor and a professor of computer science,” an official of the Institute of Science and Technology of India told Quartz.
Indian government says it will launch quantum computing programme in 2019, but details are scarce.
The course is being designed by the Indian Institute of Information Technology, which has about 100 faculty members.
In the US quantum computing is already being taught at a number of colleges, and it has become a big part of the curriculum in the country.
