Recode is reporting that the National Science Foundation is launching a pilot program that will teach computer science and engineering to undergraduates online.
The program, called Computer Skills in the 21st Century, will begin this fall, and it will be available through the NSSF’s online education portal.
The program will use computer skills training courses that are offered by colleges, universities, and other institutions.
The NSSFs program will offer six courses for students to take.
These are:A basic computer science course that covers basic programming, data structures, and algorithms.
A program called Advanced Computer Vision, which teaches students how to use computers to analyze images and analyze video.
An advanced computer vision program that teaches students to use computer vision tools to analyze video and image data.
The NSSFS says it will work with schools, companies, and researchers to deliver the courses to their students.NSSF spokesman Jeff Davis says the NBSF is also planning to offer a computer programming course, but that that is not expected to begin this year.
